It included 80 thousand members in 1885. Furthermore, the 3 centuries-old Chamber was a symbol of change and creation since Izmir’s economical conference in 1923, which was attended by Ataturk.
About Izmir University of Economics:
It was officially founded on the 1st of July 2001, and it moved to its current campus in Balcova with the support of Ahmet Pristina, the Metropolitan Mayor of Izmir at the time.
Starting its educational journey with 288 students, Izmir University of Economics, which holds the status of being the first constituent university in the Aegean region, has become one of the favorite universities across the country with 16200 graduates so far.
Its staff consists of 464 academics, 59 of whom are foreign nationals. Moreover, Izmir University of Economics has 28 associate programs, 35 undergraduate programs, 30 master’s programs, and 6 Ph.D. programs.

It was established in 2002 alongside the establishment of the university to meet the informative needs of the education staff, students, and researchers, in addition to contributing to the educational and research life.
It was restructured in 2004 by merging with the British Council Library to provide English language library services to non-university users, both physically and operationally, to reflect the English language, contemporary English, and teaching.

Healthcare:
The Counseling and Psychological Development Center (PGDM) was established to provide a professional environment where students can receive psychological counseling from expert clinical psychologists and share their problems easily and safely.
Our center’s goal is to support the individual, social, and academic development of students, to facilitate their adaptation to university life, and to develop their skills to deal with problems that they could face in these areas.
University Housing:
Izmir University of Economics student dormitories are established to provide shelter in a healthy, safe, and clean environment for local and international students, and supportive collective living conditions.
The student residences opened in 2006, and they are located inside the campus. Since dormitories are considered second homes for students in addition to being part of the university, the university strives to ensure that they can live in a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
