Baskent University

The university includes 11 faculties – a state conservatory – 7 institutes – 7 vocational schools – a school of foreign languages – 27 research centers – 1720 academic members – about 16,000 students.
The university has contributed to the educational and cultural progress of Turkey since its establishment, and it also contributes to its services that focus primarily on teaching and research that meet international standards and competition requirements.
Baskent University leads nationally and internationally in terms of research and educational quality, carried out by a highly qualified educational staff, as well as in the publishment of research results. Since its establishment, Baskent University has been one of the leading universities in Turkey regarding the number of international scholarly publications per teacher. Furthermore, research, scientific production, and contribution to society have always been major priorities.
The university, which is the first private university to teach health sciences in Turkey, was founded in 1993 in cooperation with the Turkish Organ Transplant and Burn Treatment Foundation and the Haberal Education Foundation.
Moreover, the university has developed and grown over the past eight years without government support. The construction of buildings on the campus began in 1995 and many other facilities have been added since then. The university is currently considered one of the elite faculties in Turkey in terms of its scientific approach to education.
On May 19, 2004, Baskent University started broadcasting the TV channel Kanal B. The TV channel’s studios and other facilities are located on campus.
