About Yeditepe University
It was accomplished in 1996 by the Istanbul Educational Cultural Organization
Yeditepe University aims to adhere to Ataturk’s principles, with its special academic crew. Furthermore, it aims to raise modernistic curious students, prepared with all the required qualifications in the business world and all the necessary technological skills, while being well aware of different cultures. Through its academic program and modern applications, our university provides the necessary education during the age of information.
About the university:
Yeditepe University provides temporary education compatible with the expectations of our information age, and it implements its academic activities in 13 faculties and one vocational school, which together include 71 undergraduate programs and 4 programs to obtain a university degree. Besides, it provides master’s and Ph.D. education after graduation in 87 programs for master’s and 43 programs for Ph.D. inside the facility for higher education.
Yeditepe’s base is located on the Agustus 26 campus; it’s prepared with all the students’ needs whether they are educational, cultural, artistic, or sportive. The Agustus 26 campus is located on the outskirts of Kayisdagi on Istanbul’s Asian side, with an area of 125 thousand meters squared and a building area of 223 thousand meters squared. Regardless of the educational halls, social areas, and open areas on the campus that were built with passion by the Seljuk Architecture, there are 2 dormitory halls for students with a total capacity of 3270.
The university obtained the first spot among institutional universities in Turkey by the 2017 and 2018 statistics of the Green Metric, which is an international platform about sustainability and environmental awareness. Green Metric identifies the greenest universities worldwide. Furthermore, Yeditepe University is the only university in Turkey that produces its energy thanks to its solar panels placed on top of the buildings on the campus. This system, being the biggest on Istanbul’s roofs, has an energy of 1 megawatt and it’s comprised of 3850 Axitex and Huawei Inverter panels. Moreover, current efforts are happening regarding the building of a wind energy farm with a productive capacity of 350 kilowatts in an area that belongs to our university at Sile. We also strive to increase our production of solar energy until we reach the 10 Megawatt mark.
The entrances of buildings are big gates some of which’s altitudes can reach up to 22 meters, with well-lit courtyards. These modern buildings have traits from the Seljuk Architecture. The roofs of the buildings are covered in natural stones that were brought from Anatolia, to maintain the coolness of the buildings during the Summer, and their warmth during the winter. The Unye stone was used in the building facades and polyurethane for the heating panels.

- By signing cooperation agreements with leading Constitutions in Europe, the United States, Australia, Canada, Russia, South America, and the Far East, Yeditepe University allows its students to see different cultures, observe educational developments wherever they occur, and experience intercultural exchanges. Student exchange protocols and Memorandum of Understanding agreements have been signed with universities in the United States, Canada, China, and Russia. Apart from these elements, under the LLP – Erasmus Lifelong Learning Programmer, there are agreements with more than 700 European universities. Thanks to its large network of cooperation, students and lecturers from different faculties and departments can travel abroad for their education. We also rank first among the foundation universities in terms of being the university with the largest number of foreign students through Erasmus and exchange programs.
- The Faculty of Dentistry has been accredited by the Joint Commission International and BS-EN-ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System certifications. Being the first to do so in Turkey, the faculty has been awarded the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for the third time. In October 2014, he also passed the educational accreditation of the American Dental Association (ADA). Also, the college was approved for ISO 9001 certification in 2008 in the fields of education and patient care services, accreditation by the European Federation of Periodontology for the Postgraduate School of Periodontology in 2005, and EU certification by the Association for Dental Education in Europe – ADEE in 2008 The EFP assessment was renewed in 2014 and approved through 2022.
- The Faculty of Pharmacy became number one among the constituent university’s pharmacy faculties by being awarded a six-year “full accreditation” by the National Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ECZAK) and the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Pharmacy Education Programs (ECZAKDER).
- The Faculty of Education is a member of the European Teacher Education Network and is ready for accreditation processes through Turkish Language and Literature Teaching, English Language Teaching and Mentoring, and Psychological Counseling Programs. After the Departments of Philosophy and Physics obtained the second accreditation from FEDEK, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences ensured their quality through studies of Anthropology, Translation and Interpretation, Sociology, History, English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Psychology, Turkish Language and Literature, Sociology and History. Their five-year FEDEK certificates. The Metrology (Calibration) Laboratory of the Physics Department is also accredited by TÜRKAK according to TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standards.
- The Faculty of Engineering is accredited by the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Education Programs (MÜDEK) in the fields of computer, electrical and electronics, genetics, bioengineering, chemistry, mechanics, industrial and systems engineering. After the third examination, it was recognized as the first educational center in Turkey.
- The Faculty of Medicine has received full accreditation from the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (UTEAK/TEPDAD) as a result of an on-site assessment by the visiting team of the National Council for Medical Education Accreditation (UTEAK).
- In addition, Yeditepe University’s Hospital with its entire system and standards is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the world’s most important critical maker of health standards. The result of the third examination was its recognition as the first educational center in Turkey.
