The non-profit university was founded in 1997
Istanbul Kultur University (İKÜ) is one of the many private universities in Istanbul. It has a group of four campuses close to each other in the western part of Istanbul.
The four campuses are located in Serenevler, Incirli, Bassin Express, and Atakoy, where industrial engineering started in 1997-1998.
Istanbul Kultur University conducts its academic and scientific activities in a total of 59 departments and programs, in 8 faculties: Faculty of Science and Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Health Sciences, and in two vocational schools They are: the vocational school and the vocational school of justice. In addition, it provides postgraduate education in 54 MSc and 11 Ph.D.
Campus life:
Istanbul Kultur University provides education on four campuses Atakoy, Serenevler, Incirli, and Bassin Express. The Faculty of Science and Arts, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, and Faculty of Design and Arts are located on the Atakoy campus; the Faculties of Economy, Administrative Sciences, and Education are located on the Bassin Express campus; the Faculties of Law and Health Sciences, the vocational school for justice, and preparatory English classes are located in the Serenevler campus; the Vocational school is located in the Incirli campus. Transportation between campuses is provided by a shuttle service.
Inside the campus, students are provided with breaks to have their meals and other needs. In the morning and evening, shuttle transportation services are provided to Bakirkoy Seabus to students coming from Kadikoy and Bostanci. Foreign relations İKÜ is a member of the Caucasus Universities Union.

Research activities at İKÜ are carried out in the research centers as well as the faculties and institutes. Research centers are organized as departmental institutions, and interdisciplinary research is carried out in these centers with the implementation activities of commercial and industrial organizations.

European and Internation relations center:
This center (EIC), which manages Istanbul Kultur University’s relations with universities and high education institutes abroad, works in all the various international higher education institutes, especially the universities in the 27 countries that have become members of the European Union nominated by Turkey. For full membership, it also works in the areas of cooperation activities and the structuring and implementation of corporate projects.
The LLP Institution Coordinator-ship Lifelong Learning Program offers İKÜ students the opportunity to study at more than 100 universities abroad and undertake internships in international companies.
